Another year has begun, and another page has turned. Firstly, I should end off last years news which happened to conclude with the EA Nationals in Werribee. We traveled down two see our beautiful boys compete - AP Wizardry (NSW) and AP First Impressions (WA).
It was wonderful to catch up with many friends from near and far. Our boys did not disappoint us in the slightest (they never do!), both performing superbly and both being just off the money. We want to thank, once again the Broadwith family for doing such a superb job with Oliver and congratulate them on their success with Gordon Park Supernova, taking out EA National Small Galloway of the year. Such a well deserved achievement and it could not have happened to a nicer family. We would also like to congratulate the Lamey and Welsh partnership. Spider look amazing and his work was electrifying. It caused goose bumps on all who watched!
Here's hoping we can travel down again this year to see our beautiful progeny compete at one of the countries most prestigious events!
After Christmas concluded and the New Year began, I was fortunate to take a trip of a lifetime to the bustling cities of Buenos Aires, Argentina and Santiago, Chile. This was combined with the challenge of the Inka trail hike to Machu Picchu - the lost city of the Inka's. 5 days climbing, 56km long, basic camping conditions and 4200m above sea level - what a trek! It was the hardest thing I have ever faced, but the most rewarding. When you walk through the sun gate and get your first glimpse of Machu Picchu as the cloud cover lifts ... simply breath taking!
Finally, we have some beautiful babies blessing our paddocks. we have defiantly made up for a year off with some simply stunning foals.
Firstly, in early November Rathowen Out of the Blue presented us with a tall and scopey chestnut colt with mega bling by Rothwell Toytown. Hudson was everything we hoped for from this cross and more.
After a long journey, a trip to Tasmania, and gaining many accolades to her name, our beautiful Rathowen South Wind (Holly) produced a magnificent filly by Rothwell Toytown. Scarlett, is certainly a miss like her mother and has also inherited her beautiful looks and breathtaking movement!
AP Twist of Faith presented us with a petite filly by the beautiful Westlake National Anthem. Darcie, has the prettiest face and the longest finest limbs. She is the much anticipated maternal half sister to AP China Doll who is an in hand champion and VIC RP Pageant winner.
Last cab off the rank was a brown colt out of Willowcroft English Rose by Ninefield Minks Supreme (imp). Touche (Toohey) was blessed by the bling fairy with a big blaze and two back socks. He is a tall and elegant colt with style and grace.
